Starsplit

Privacy policy · Last updated 4 August 2026

Starsplit doesn't track you.

The game itself collects nothing — no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, and your progress never leaves your device. It can now show you a video ad, but only when you ask for one, and it is never personalised and never used to follow you anywhere.

What changed, and when

The first version of this page said Starsplit collected nothing at all, and promised that if a release ever added in-app purchases or advertising, this page would say exactly what before that version shipped. This is that update.

Version 1.0 shipped with neither. Both were written and both were switched off, so the app on the App Store until now has had no ad code running in it and no live store. Version 1.1 turns both on.

So two things are new: stardust can be bought, and a video ad can be watched for a reward — five more moves when you have run out, or a life back when the bank is empty. Everything below describes what each of those does and does not involve.

What is stored, and where

Your progress — levels completed, stars, stardust, boosters, daily streak and settings — is written to a file inside the app's own private storage on your device. It is not sent anywhere, and nobody but you and your device can read it.

Because it lives only on your device, it does not follow you to another one, and deleting the app deletes it. There is no way for us to restore it.

Advertising

Starsplit shows rewarded video only. There are no banners, no interstitials, and no ad that plays on its own. The only way to see one is to tap a button offering it — when you have run out of lives, or run out of moves — and there is always another way to get the same thing without watching.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. To fill one, Google receives basic device and network information, and the ad-performance data needed to count and measure it. That happens only when an ad is actually requested; if you never tap to watch one, nothing is ever sent.

Your iOS advertising identifier is not part of that. An app can only read the IDFA after asking you for tracking permission, and Starsplit never asks — the "Allow this app to track you?" prompt is not in the game, and the app is built with tracking switched off entirely. So that identifier is not available to Starsplit, and not available to Google through it.

Every request is non-personalised. Starsplit asks Google for non-personalised ads on every single request, without exception, which means what you are shown is not based on a profile of you. For the same reason the app never shows the iOS "Allow this app to track you?" prompt — there would be nothing to ask for. Ads are also restricted to Google's G content rating, to match the game's 4+ rating.

Google's own handling of that data is covered by Google's Business Data Responsibility and Security page and its partner-sites policy. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent form the first time the app has an ad to offer. You can reopen that form, and change or withdraw your answer, whenever you like — it is in the game's Settings, under Ad privacy choices.

Purchases

Stardust can be bought through the App Store. The entire transaction is handled by Apple: Starsplit never sees, receives or stores a payment detail — no card number, no billing address, no name. The app is told only that a purchase succeeded, and adds the stardust.

That transaction is between you and Apple, under Apple's own privacy policy. We receive nothing from it beyond anonymous sales totals. Stardust packs are consumable — once spent, they are gone, and there is nothing to restore.

Third parties

Two, and only two: Google AdMob, for the rewarded video described above, and Apple, for purchases. There is no analytics library, no crash reporter, no social sign-in and no data broker. Nothing about you is sold to anyone, and there is no mechanism in the app by which it could be.

Children

Starsplit is rated 4+ and ads are restricted to the G content rating to match. The app collects nothing itself from anyone of any age, never personalises an ad, and never tracks. There is no chat, no user-generated content and no links out of the game.

If you would rather a child never see an ad at all, simply do not tap the buttons that offer one — nothing in the game requires watching a video, and no ad appears on its own.

If this ever changes

This policy describes the app as it ships today. If a future version collects or transmits anything not listed above, this page will be updated to say exactly what, and the change will be described here before that version is released. The date at the top is how you tell.
